My niece Kristie wrote about Tip's morning. He afternoon was busy. They moved him to step-down ICU and removed all sorts of tubes, wires and whatall. He had lunch, again real food, and they also had him dangle his legs! This is with two broken legs, one severly. Unbelievable that he can do this. He's doing all the things the Dr. and nurses ask him to so he gets better. He's had a load of company today. He didn't sleep last night, might be because he slept for 8 days. They wanted him stimulated late afternoon and into evening so he would be tired tonight. So we'd ask him questions and talk about all kinds of things. He ate part of his dinner and then had a milkshake that he really enjoyed. He was disappointed the Cleveland Indians game was at noon and he had missed it. He finally seemed tired a little after 8 o'clock and we left.
He is on very little pain medication. The pain meds he was on earlier are wearing off but make him a little fuzzy. But basically he is doing quite well. It's nice to have our brother back and my nieces and his grandchildren are thrilled with his progress also.
What remarkable progress he's making, Janet! It's hard to believe he's not taking much pain medication given what he's been through.
ReplyDeleteSuch good, good news.
Kathleen
So glad to hear of the improvement. Prayers are continuing
ReplyDeleteIt must be a great relief to see him making progress and to be able to talk with him. Hospitals really move patients along quickly these days.

Janet, such wonderful news. Amazing progress your father is having. WOW! I think that summarizes things very well. Good for him.
ReplyDeleteYep, don't like those pain medications that make your brain fuzzy. Haven't encountered one yet that doesn't.
At this rate, he just may do very well in rehab.

Great news!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late. I'm glad he is improving more each day.
