A wonderful surprise happened yesterday. My brother was able to sit in a wheelchair for the first time. They had been using this huge recliner type chair on wheels. I don't think it was very comfortable but it allowed him to go to and from therapy. Yesterday they put him in a wheelchair and to quote him - "I was shocked". But very happy. He told me his feet actually touched the floor. This is a baby step but to him it is huge.
He has such a wonderful attitude. Hopefully soon he will get strength in his left arm and then maybe be able to move himself. As my niece said he is relearning how to do the easiest tasks that we all take for granted. Here's to more baby steps!
Those baby steps will start coming more quickly as the healing progresses. I am so happy to hear he is starting to see progress. It really helps when you know all the hard work is paying off.
