Follow up with Highway Patrol

I just received a phone call from the Highway Patrol/State Trooper. Very disturbed to hear the driver of the vehicle who caused the accident was under the influence of prescription drugs plus there were illegal drugs found in the car. Probable DUI charge, just waiting to get all test results back. My dad so didn't deserve this and I am praying to make some sense out of it all. Right now I'm feeling a rage of anger.

  1. Hi Kay, my name is Cari Wood - I work at Dresch. I usually tell the drivers to " drive careful, and leave the pedestrians upright ". I haven't been to the break room in the mornings lately and feel horrible I didn't wish him his safe day - he is in my prayers for a speedy recovery - if there's anything I can do, please let me know through the lab - Thank you for keeping us updated. Your friend, Cari

  2. It is so sad when irresponsible actions cause so much harm to innocent bystanders. Hopefully the driver won't be driving any longer.

  4. Hello, Kay.

I can certainly understand your anger. Please know your father is in my thoughts (I'm a friend of Janet's from the blog).

    Take care,

  5. Kay, I was kind of afraid someone was going to say something like drunk driver or "under the influence." That is awful. And to think she had her grandkids in the car. No one deserves this and I don't think any sense will be made out of it, though we all try.

There needs to be a stiff penalty for people like this. Real jail time, revoked driver's license, fines and community service after jail time. I had a friend who was just 16 years of age who was killed by a drunk driver and the other girl was hospitalized for months.

Your father will be in my thoughts and prayers as he heals through the terrible ordeal that was dealt to thim.

I am also a friend of Janet's from our diabetes blog. There are lots of us out there (all across the USA) that are thinking of your Dad and your entire family. We are all hoping and praying for a smooth recovery.
